A Decade of Impact
Investing in Women’s Organizations Building Peace and Security for All
#PeaceIsAllofUs #WPHF_10
Since 2016, the United Nations Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) has invested in a simple but powerful truth: women-led local action leads to longer lasting peace and security.
From the frontlines of conflict to communities recovering from disaster, WPHF has provided quality, flexible, and reliable funding for women peacebuilders, humanitarian actors, and human rights defenders. These women mediate local disputes, provide life-saving services, protect the most vulnerable, and hold communities together even in the most uncertain times.
A decade on, the evidence is clear: investing in women is not symbolic. It is strategic. It is necessary. And it transforms communities.
10 Years of Partnership for Women and Girls Across the Globe
Over the past decade, our partners across the multilateral system — governments, the United Nations, civil society organizations, and the private sector — have come together to champion women’s leadership in peace and humanitarian action. We are deeply grateful to our member state, UN, INGO and CSO partners whose collaboration and commitment have made our work possible over the past decade.
Together, we’ve helped ensure women and girls are not only protected in crisis, but have the support, the trust, and the resources to shape solutions.
Hear directly from the people who’ve made our partnership possible.
10 Years of Innovation and Transformation for Peace
WPHF is UN80 in action — a concrete example of how the multilateral system can evolve to better support those working at the forefront of the world’s most pressing crises.
As the only UN global pooled fund dedicated to directly financing civil society organizations advancing Women, Peace and Security and Humanitarian Action, WPHF was created to close a persistent gap in the system: ensuring local women’s organizations have access to the resources they need to lead.
Nearly half of all WPHF-supported civil society partners have never received funding from the United Nations before, reflecting the Fund’s ability to reach organizations that traditional financing mechanisms often miss.
As a result, WPHF is building a more inclusive and responsive model of international cooperation, one that recognizes that sustainable peace is driven by the leadership, and expertise of frontline women’s organizations worldwide.
Thank you to our donor government partners for making this work possible.
