The United Nations Women’s Peace & Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) has launched a Call for Proposals in Syria to support non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working on women’s participation and leadership in humanitarian and crisis planning and response, as well as those working to ensure the protection of women and girls — enhancing their safety, security and mental health and making sure their human rights are respected in the aftermath of the February 2023 earthquake.
WPHF seeks to fund qualifying local organizations in Syria through the following funding streams:
- Programmatic funding from 30,000 USD to 200,000 USD
To finance programmatic activities of NGOs aimed at i) Strengthening women’s participation and leadership in planning and responding to humanitarian crisis (in line with WPHF impact area 3); and ii) Enhancing the safety, security and mental health of women and girls (in line with WPHF impact area 5).
- Institutional funding from 2,500 USD to 30,000 USD
To reinforce the institutional capacity of women’s rights and women-led organizations/NGOs working on the implementation of the Women, Peace Agenda to ensure they are able to sustain themselves and to improve their impact (in line with WPHF impact area 1).
PLEASE NOTE: AN ORGANIZATION CAN ONLY APPLY ONE TIME FOR PROGRAMMATIC FUNDING AND/OR ONE TIME FOR INSTITUTIONAL FUNDING. ORGANIZATIONS WHO APPLY FOR BOTH STREAMS NEED TO SUBMIT TWO SEPARATE APPLICATIONS PACKAGES BASED ON THE REQUIREMENTS AND RELATED TEMPLATES FOR EACH STREAM.
COMPLETE APPLICATION PACKAGES IN ENGLISH OR ARABIC SHOULD BE EMAILED TO CFP.SYRIA@UNFPA.ORG WITH THE SUBJECT LINE “WPHF CFP2-SYRIA RESPONSE.”
